Half term explorer quest
Audley End House & Gardens
With spring just around the corner, get out and about this February half term on this brand new explorer quest at one of Essex’s most picturesque settings. Track down the clues and solve the puzzles as you follow the family trail through the gardens of Audley End, and enjoy a brilliant day out in history while you do it.
Wanstead United Reform Church
Always a popular date on the Essex calendar, Wanstead Vintage returns just before Valentine’s Day, meaning the perfect opportunity to buy something a little extra special for your loved one. Expect stalls upon stalls selling everything from haberdashery, jewellery, vintage fashion, homeware, books, vinyl and much more.
Hylands Estate Open Day
Hylands House opens its doors to reveal the secrets behind its history with an exhibition displayed in the library – this month’s exhibition explores the owners of Hylands through the years. Also on is The Farmers’ & Craft Market, located in the fresh air between The Stables and Hylands House. The market is a treasure trove of fresh, local food and drink, and crafts direct from the producers and makers. Local honey, fresh bread, hand-reared pork and beef, smoked fish and cheese, handmade candles, and beautifully crafted jewellery are just some of the delights you’ll find.
Charter Hall, Colchester
It’s been a busy few years for Jason Manford since his last smash-hit stand up show, but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Like Me’ is his latest comic offering set to hit road, and is sure to be ‘expert observational comedy’ (The Guardian) mixed with ‘comic gold’ (Mail on Sunday).
